Plugins
The Polylane plugin installs this whole section in one step for Claude Code, Cursor or Codex: the platform MCP server, the docs MCP server, skills that teach your agent the platform and the CLI, and slash commands for the most common workflows. One repository, coreplanelabs/skills, is published to each agent's plugin directory.
What it adds
| Component | Description |
|---|---|
polylane MCP server | https://mcp.polylane.com/mcp: the REST API and agent tools for connected providers. See Platform MCP server. |
polylane-docs MCP server | https://docs.polylane.com/mcp: search and read these docs, so the agent retrieves current commands and schemas instead of guessing. See Docs MCP server. |
polylane skill | The platform: connecting a stack, investigating incidents, checking the production impact of a change before shipping it, and how to use the MCP server well. |
polylane-cli skill | The polylane command: authentication, workspaces, querying services and logs, running agent tools, threads and scripting patterns. |
/polylane:onboard | Install the CLI, sign in, and connect integrations and cloud accounts. |
/polylane:investigate | Root-cause an incident across logs, metrics, the dependency graph, code and recent changes. |
Skills load themselves when a request matches their description, and commands run when you invoke them. Claude Code and Cursor ship the commands; Codex surfaces the same workflows as starter prompts on the plugin, and Cursor also gets a rule that reminds the agent to retrieve Polylane documentation before acting. Once installed, ask your agent something like "Use Polylane to show me the error rate for the service this branch deploys, over the last hour, and what changed in production for it today."
Install
/plugin marketplace add coreplanelabs/skills
/plugin install polylane@polylane
The same commands work from a terminal as claude plugin marketplace add coreplanelabs/skills and claude plugin install polylane@polylane. Update later with claude plugin update polylane@polylane.
Open Settings > Plugins, search for Polylane in the Cursor Marketplace and install it; plugins need Cursor 3.13 or later. Without the marketplace, register the MCP server with the Add to Cursor link and add the skills under Settings > Rules > Add Rule > Remote Rule (GitHub) with coreplanelabs/skills.
codex plugin marketplace add coreplanelabs/skills --ref main
codex plugin add polylane@polylane
You can also install Polylane from the plugin directory with /plugins in the Codex app or CLI. Start a new thread so the skills and MCP servers load, and update later with codex plugin marketplace upgrade polylane followed by codex plugin add polylane@polylane.
Any agent that follows the Agent Skills standard can use the skills without the plugin wrapper: run npx skills add coreplanelabs/skills.
The first connection to the polylane server opens your browser: approve the client and sign in to Polylane, and the agent stores the tokens (in Claude Code, run /mcp to start it). On a machine without a browser, register the server yourself with an API key as Platform MCP server describes; agent tools stay read-only until you opt in, on the plugin as everywhere else.
Check the install
| Agent | Description |
|---|---|
| Claude Code | claude plugin list shows polylane@polylane, and /mcp lists polylane and polylane-docs as connected. |
| Cursor | Settings > MCP lists polylane, and the Polylane skills show under Customize. |
| Codex | codex plugin list shows polylane@polylane as installed and enabled, and /mcp lists both servers. |
