Mixpanel

Connect Mixpanel so agents can query your product analytics: event volumes, funnels, retention, and saved Insights reports.

Setup

1. In Mixpanel, go to Organization Settings → Service Accounts and create a service account. Give it the Admin role on the projects so agents can also create annotations; a Consumer role works for read-only queries. To let agents export raw events, also grant the service account the download_events_csv permission; without it agents can still run all aggregate analytics.
2. Choose your data residency region (US, EU, or India). Check your Mixpanel URL: mixpanel.com is US, eu.mixpanel.com is EU, in.mixpanel.com is India.
3. Paste the service account username and secret into Polylane. Polylane validates the credentials and lists every project the account can access.
4. Pick the projects to connect. Each project becomes its own integration, so query budgets and daily checks stay per project.

Your secret is encrypted before it is stored, and the agent never sees it.

What agents can do

• Run segmentation queries over event volumes and properties
• Discover event names and property values
• Read saved funnels, Insights reports, and retention
• Export raw event samples for record-level inspection (needs the download_events_csv permission)
• Create chart annotations to mark deploys and incidents
• Watch daily event volumes for anomalies (product analytics settles per day, so checks run once a day)

Mixpanel's Query API allows 60 requests per hour per project; Polylane budgets agent queries and the daily check against that shared limit.

Disconnecting

Disconnect Mixpanel in Polylane, then delete the service account in Mixpanel.
